Terms of Service
§1 Provider
Literaxis is a service of turmitus.tech, Hirschengraben 33, CH-6003 Luzern, Switzerland. Contact: office@turmitus.tech.
Literaxis is a tool — developed and operated exclusively in Switzerland.
§2 Scope of Service
Literaxis is an AI-assisted translation tool supporting authors and publishers in localising literary texts. The service analyses style, voice and characteristics of the source text and delivers an annotated translation with flags for wordplay, idioms and cultural references.
Literaxis is a tool — not a professional translation service and not a substitute for human translators. The output is a working document that the user reviews, edits and approves independently.
§3 Quality and Disclaimer
Translation quality depends on the language pair, genre and complexity of the source text. For mature language pairs, Literaxis achieves a direct usability of 90–95% according to internal benchmarks. This figure is a guideline without warranty.
turmitus.tech accepts no liability for linguistic inaccuracies, incorrect rendering of wordplay or idioms, literary decisions in the target text, or damages arising from publishing unreviewed output.
The user is responsible for quality review before any publication. The annotated PDF contains explicit flags for passages requiring human post-editing.
§4 Rights to Output
The translated text generated by Literaxis is the property of the user. turmitus.tech claims no usage, exploitation or publication rights over the translated content.
The flag system, annotations and output structure remain the intellectual property of turmitus.tech.
§5 User Obligations
By using the service, the user confirms they are authorised to translate the uploaded source material — as author, rights holder, or based on explicit permission.
The user bears sole responsibility for compliance with third-party copyright. turmitus.tech is not liable for copyright infringements arising from uploading unlicensed content.
§6 Pricing and Payment
Current prices are listed at literaxis.com/pricing. All prices are in CHF including applicable VAT.
Payment is made once per job. There are no subscriptions. Once processing is complete, refunds are not possible as the service is delivered immediately and entirely digitally.
In the case of a verified technical failure (not: dissatisfaction with translation quality), the job will be reprocessed or refunded upon request.
§7 Availability
turmitus.tech strives for high availability but does not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Planned maintenance will be communicated in advance where possible.
§8 Limitation of Liability
The liability of turmitus.tech is limited to direct, proven damages and shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific job.
Any liability for consequential damages, lost profits, reputational harm or third-party claims is excluded to the extent permitted by law.
§9 Changes to These Terms
turmitus.tech reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Registered users will be notified by email of material changes. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
§10 Support and Complaints
For questions, complaints or change requests, please use the support form at literaxis.com/support. Requests are answered within 7 business days.
§11 Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed exclusively by Swiss law. Jurisdiction for all disputes is [Canton], Switzerland.
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to literaxis.com and is governed by the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (DSG/nDSG). Data controller: turmitus.tech, Hirchengraben 33, Luzern, Switzerland.
What data we collect
Account data: email address, encrypted password (bcrypt, non-reversible), language preference, creation and modification date.
Usage data: weekly page count (anonymised, for fair use enforcement). No behavioural profiles, no tracking.
Payment data: Stripe customer ID for transaction matching. Payment methods are stored exclusively with Stripe — we never see this data.
Zero-Storage — Book Content
Uploaded files and translated texts are stored for a maximum of 7 days. After this period, they are automatically and irreversibly deleted.
We do not permanently store manuscripts, book content or personal texts. Zero-Storage is not a marketing claim — it is the technical foundation of our system.
Third Parties and Data Transfer
Infomaniak Network AG, Switzerland — hosting, database, servers. All core data remains in Switzerland.
Anthropic PBC, USA — AI processing. Texts are transmitted to the Anthropic API for translation and are not shared with external AI models or third parties.
Brevo SAS, France/EU — email delivery (verification, password reset). GDPR-compliant.
Stripe Inc., USA — payment processing. PCI-DSS Level 1 certified.
Upstash Inc., USA — Redis cache for job processing. No book content in cache, only technical job IDs.
Your Rights
Access: You may request information about data stored about you at any time.
Correction: Incorrect data will be corrected upon request.
Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data directly in the Dashboard under "Delete Account".

Security
Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and never stored in plain text. All connections are TLS-encrypted. Database access is exclusively via secured connections within the Infomaniak infrastructure.
AI & Third Parties
Anthropic — AI Transparency
Translations are generated by Claude (Anthropic PBC, San Francisco, USA). By using Literaxis, you agree that your text is transmitted to the Anthropic API for processing.
We do not use your books to train external AI models or share them with third parties. Internally, we collect anonymised quality metrics (sentence structure, style markers) solely to improve our service — with no link to content or authors. Full usage policies are available at anthropic.com/legal/aup.
turmitus.tech uses Anthropic exclusively for the core function (translation). No texts are transmitted for any other purpose.
